Resources

A listing of general bilingual parenting resources and those specific to Portuguese that I have encountered:

  • Language Lizard– several books, most of which are written in both English and one of many other languages (including many hard-to-find ones, like Hungarian). Their Portuguese titles are European Portuguese. They also have free online information for parents and teachers of bilingual children.
  • Atlantico Books– pricey, but certainly not more than ordering the books from overseas yourself! They have more of a focus on Brazilian Portuguese, but carry some European titles as well.
  • Multilingual Children’s Association– some books on bilingual parenting, and lots of informative resources, and a big focus on helping people find resources in their communities, whether it’s playgroups or babysitters.
  • iVillage Bilingual Parenting Forum

Great list of links! Muito obrigada!

AtlanticoBooks can get you any European Portuguese book you are looking for, but I am more expert in Brazilian titles. Please email me if you don’t find a Portuguese (Continental) book or CD you are looking for, and I’ll do my best to add it to http://www.AtlanticoBooks.com!

Hi! I really like your link to Multilingual Children’s Association. Great to find books specifically written for multilingual parenting.
I have a list of resources on my blog as well, for people who are interested.
